There's an app for
that! As we move more and more into the digital age, new apps
for cell phones and tablets are popping up. Many are quite handy
for us outdoor women. Here are a few that I enjoy (these are
Android apps but usually have Iphone versions):
Audubon Birds (Natureshare)
$4.99 - This is like having a field guide on your phone. It even
has bird calls. They also have other guides if birds aren't your
thing.
CalParks (Globalmotion
media, inc.) - free - has info on all of California State Parks.
Oh Ranger! Park finder
(American park net) - free- helps you find parks in a specific area, or
near where you currently are, using your phone's gps.
This volunteer, non-profit organization provides
camping opportunities, instruction and resources in the out-of-doors.
The only fees are those necessary to cover the expense
of each event. Modest annual membership dues cover the expenses of chapter and national
newsletters and other organizational expenses.
Camping Women currently has chapters
throughout California and welcomes new members from all parts of the country (and the world).
Please explore the pages listed on
the left to learn more about the organization and enjoy some photos of
activities.
